Jacobs attended the University of South Florida (1976-80) before producing and promoting special events ranging from music festivals to boxing as general manager of Tampa’s Alessi Sports & Entertainment Promotions from 1981-87. He founded Global Productions Inc. in 1987 and over the next 23 years produced in excess of 700 sports and special events in 150 cities. For 12 years Jacobs was senior programming consultant for the highly acclaimed and award-winning USA Network Tuesday Night Fights weekly series. Well respected within the industry for his expertise in negotiating rights fees, venue location, advertising, sponsorship, as well as his organization and communication strengths, he was senior advisor to Roy Jones Jr. and Square Ring for six years (2000-2006) and Senior Vice President of Operations and Development for Star Boxing. Since 2010 Jacobs has been Chief Operating Officer of Top Rank where he oversees all operations of their 30 plus global events each year.
Jacobs expertly orchestrated the innovative plan for boxing’s return from the COVID-19 pandemic with the “Top Rank Bubble” in Las Vegas, coordinating countless logistics with all parties to ensure safety for the multiple weekly cards.
