MAYWEATHER SR., MUSTAFA MUHAMMAD & GARCIA VISIT HALL

  CANASTOTA, NY - On Thursday, February 27th trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., former WBA light heavyweight champion Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and veteran cornerman Rafael Garcia visited the Hall of Fame Museum while in Central New York for the February 28th ShoBox telecast from Turning Stone Resort Casino in nearby Verona, NY. The card, headlined by J’Leon Love’s 10th round TKO of Vladine Biosse, was promoted by Mayweather Promotions.

Mayweather Sr. posted a 28-6-1 (17 KOs) professional boxing record before turning his attention to training champions. During his career he has trained such standouts as his son Floyd Mayweather Jr., Chad Dawson, Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya among others.

Mustafa Muhammad, who was champion from 1980-81, compiled a 50-8-1 (39 KOs) record that includes wins over Marvin Johnson and HOFer Matthew Saad Muhammad. As a trainer, he has worked with Iran Barkley, Chad Dawson, Johnny Tapia, Zab Judah and James Toney among others.

Trainer / cutman / hand wrap specialist Garcia has worked the corner of such champions as Lupe Pintor, James Toney, Erik Morales and Hall of Famers Roberto Duran, Alexis Arguello and Wilfredo Gomez. Since 2001 he has wrapped the hands of Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr.
